Research

My interests lie in the fields of translation studies and language teaching. My monograph Cruzando límites: la retórica de la traducción en Jacques Derrida (Peter Lang, 2005) examines the impact of post-structuralist theory, in particular deconstruction, on contemporary thinking on translation. Current research focuses on the role of translation in language teaching and learning. Over the years I have been involved in various projects aimed at the production of language learning materials. As a consultant author for the Open University Spanish programme, I am co-author of an advanced course book and co-editor of an anthology of texts for advanced students. I have also worked with the Cambridge University Language Centre on the project Español en vivo.
