Speed networking evening for early career researchers

klaxon!

There was a good turn-out for the language sciences speed networking evening in the Dept. of Engineering on 25 Oct. After a "virtual" presentation and Q&A session with Max Little of MIT (and a few glasses of wine!) over 35 willing participants braved the sound of the deafening klaxon to exchange information about their research in a kind of academic musical chairs. Napoleon Katsos of Dept. of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics gave a brief talk providing insights into the benefits of working collaboratively with researchers in other fields.

The event was impeccably run and organised by Felix Hill and Nikola Vukovic. Thanks go to them, to the speakers, and to Rachel Fogg of the Dept. of Engineering for allowing the free use of the venue.
