Coordinator, Cambridge Language Sciences Strategic Research Initiative
Departments and Institutes
My role is to develop and maintain a network connecting language researchers from different disciplines at the University of Cambridge. The over-arching aim is to build our research capacity in the language sciences.
I support the other members of the Language Sciences Steering Committee in order to deliver the strategic aims of the initiative, reporting to Henriëtte Hendriks and Robert Foley. Although based in the Dept. of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics I work across all of the departments and institutions affiliated to Cambridge Language Sciences, as well as with the Research Strategy Office, Office of External Affairs and Communications, Development and Alumni Relations, and with the Coordinators of the other University of Cambridge Research Initiatives and Networks. I'm also a Champion for Cambridge Enterprise.
My work includes
- facilitating new cross-disciplinary research collaborations
- coordinating collaborative bids and projects
- organising seminars, workshops and other events which provide a forum for interdisciplinary debate
- developing internal and external communications.
