Administrative Assistant for Cambridge Language Sciences (Part Time)

Dept. of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics

We are seeking an experienced administrator to support the Directors and Manager in expanding our activities.

The role holder will carry out administrative tasks such as the organization of meetings and academic events, communications functions such as updating the website, moderating the mailing list; liaising with the 250+ members of the research community, and handling queries and correspondence from both inside and outside the University.

This is a part time position (18.25 hours/week, 0.5 FTE) until 30 September 2019, with the possibility of renewal thereafter. The role holder will report to the IRC's Research Development Manager.

You will be educated to at least A Level (a degree is desirable) with previous experience of organizational and financial administration. You will enjoy working with a degree of autonomy, working with people, have excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills, and be highly competent in the use of Microsoft Office products. Familiarity with University of Cambridge systems and administration would be an advantage.

Interviews will be held on the 1 September 2017, subject to confirmation, in central Cambridge. The intended start date of this position is 1 October 2017, or as soon as possible thereafter.
