Meeting of the UK and Irish speech science and technology research community

This meeting aims to provide a forum for young and senior researchers to meet, and to foster interactions between the academic institutions of the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland researching speech science and technology as well as between academia and industry. The scope of this meeting is broad and covers any topics relevant to speech science and technology research, including:

  • Automatic speech recognition
  • Speech synthesis and generation
  • Speech analysis and enhancement, speech signal processing
  • Spoken language understanding, speech translation
  • Dialogue systems
  • Speech perception, phonology and phonetics
  • Speaker and language identification
  • Machine learning for speech processing
  • Microphone arrays and distant speech processing

What we do

Cambridge Language Sciences is an Interdisciplinary Research Centre at the University of Cambridge. Our virtual network connects researchers from five schools across the university as well as other world-leading research institutions. Our aim is to strengthen research collaborations and knowledge transfer across disciplines in order to address large-scale multi-disciplinary research challenges relating to language research.
