The CLS Symposium is an annual meeting of minds, bringing together language scientists from all disciplines across the University of Cambridge for an afternoon of talks, poster presentations, and informal networking.
The theme of this year’s Symposium is 'Language and Communication Across Boundaries' focusing on how language and communication enable connections across social, cultural, cognitive, historical, and geographic divides, while exploring emerging research in increasingly diverse, multilingual, and multimodal contexts.

Poster Call is now open.
The submission deadline is Wednesday 23 September 2026.
Posters can be on any topic within Language Sciences, and interdisciplinary research is especially welcome. All abstracts will be reviewed before acceptance. This is an internal call for University of Cambridge members.
Submission Guidelines
- Abstracts must be no longer than 400 words (excluding references)
- Abstracts should be anonymised and in PDF format
- Submit via the online portal
