Research Associate (Autism Spectrum Disorder; cognitive neuroscience of receptive language processing; cognition indexing)

We are seeking a Postdoctoral researcher with expertise in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and/or the cognitive neuroscience of receptive language processing and/or using neural or physiological measures (e.g. electroencephalography (EEG), pupilometry, galvanic skin response) to index cognition. The post-holder will work under a new stream of research lead by Dr. Alexandra Woolgar aiming to derive objective measures of cognition in individuals who struggle to communicate their ability through behaviour. In particular, we seek to identify neural markers of receptive language in individual children and apply it to examine abilities that may otherwise be hidden in minimally-verbal children with ASD. The position would suit an applicant with passion for exploiting cognitive neuroscientific methods to answer important questions about cognition in children and in clinical populations.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 18 months in the first instance.

Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service check (enhanced with children's barred list).

Please include details of your referees, including email address and phone number, one of which must be your most recent line manager.

The closing date for applications is Sunday 6th May 2018 and interviews are yet to be confirmed.
